Highly-rated pickleball paddle praised for excellent control, power, and affordability under $100. Customers said it offers "plenty of power and control," with a gritty surface and forgiving play. The handle shape is "the best by far." Great for 3.5-4.0+ level players. Note: Not USAP certified for tournament play and comes without warranty.

  • Great paddle plenty of power and control when you need it.
  • Plays better and more forgiving. The handle shape is the best by far.
  • Priced under $100, which is insane. The quality of construction is superb.

This paddle has genuinely changed my game. The control gives me the confidence to slow the ball down when I need to, while the grip lets me generate spin and place shots I couldn’t do much with before, especially balls that are too low to attack with power. I have more options on the court now, and it’s easily become my favorite paddle.

The Axon hybrid is a great playing paddle at a very affordable price point. I just recently heard that it is being submitted for certification which is necessary to be able to use it in tournaments. I have owned the Ronbus Quanta and the Vatic V-Sol. In my opinion the Axon plays better and more forgiving than either of them. The handle shape is the best by far. I am a 4.0 player and have so much fun playing with the FLIK Axon. Highly recommend!

Flik Axon hybrid review ...

Well the Axon is an EPP core, all foam paddle that Flik keeps in its "Sandbox" (paddles that are not USAP approved, prototypes that may or may not be fully released). The hybrid paddle I received was 7.82 ounces stock. I added an over grip, 2.5 grams of weight to the top corners and 1 gram to the bottom corners. Final weight 8.2 ounces. Oh, the paddle is also very gritty. Here are my impressions after a few days of play:

the paddle has a slightly hollow feel, and it's soft (but not plush like the F3).
power/pop probably fits on the edge of all court and power categories; the F3 might be a bit more powerful (the feel of the two paddles are so different it is a little hard to discern). The overall vibe of the paddle is one of control, especially with soft shots, but it seems precise and punchy when doing counters. I find it to be more controllable/predictable than the F3 and less poppy (I confess to be a poor judge of a paddle's poppiness; I just know when it is too poppy and not poppy enough for me).
for a hybrid paddle I found the paddle to be quite maneuverable, even more than the F3 standard.
sweet spot, courtesy of the added perimeter weighting, is fine.
the quality of construction, like the F3, is superb.

I am actually thinking of maining this paddle for doubles. It makes me feel confident in my style of game (a 4.0+ player who makes heavy use of soft shots).

Should you get it? Well it is priced under $100, which is insane. But it doesn't come with a warranty and it is not USAP approved. I think it is the PERFECT paddle for those who don't do tournaments and are at the 3.5 - 4.0+ level. I hope Flik moves forward with this paddle, as is or with minor tweaks.
